Middelburg - Holland |
Building the City of Middelburg started in the 9th century with the Abbey, by the Norbertine Order from Ghent (Flanders), later (15th C.) completed with church and tower. Embarrassingly prosperous in the 17th and 18th century, Middelburg immediately came after Amsterdam in importance. Hundreds of prestigeous monuments remind of those days.
